Whether you're slicing a crusty sourdough loaf, plating up cheese and charcuterie, or carving a Sunday roast, your wooden board is doing more than just looking good – it's working hard for you.
But like any hardworking kitchen staple, your board needs a bit of TLC to stay in top shape. Here's how to keep it nourished, protected, and looking beautiful for years to come.
Step 1: Clean It Gently (But Properly)
Always hand wash your wooden board with warm water and a mild soap. Avoid soaking it or putting it in the dishwasher, excess moisture can cause warping or cracking. Dry it thoroughly with a towel and let it air-dry completely before storing it upright.
Step 2: Condition It Regularly
Here's our golden rule: If your board looks dry or feels rough, it’s time to feed it.
Conditioning your board helps:
Prevent cracking and warping
Repel moisture and food particles
Keep the wood looking rich and vibrant
That’s where our Corsaire Creations Board Butter comes in.
Handmade with beeswax and food-safe mineral oil, it’s designed to nourish, protect, and revive all wooden boards, whether it’s one of ours or a long-time kitchen favourite.
How to Use Our Board Butter
1. Make sure your board is clean and dry.
2. Using a soft cloth (or your fingers), apply a small amount of board butter.
3. Rub it in using circular motions, covering every surface and edge.
4. Let it absorb overnight if possible.
5. Buff off any excess with a clean cloth.
Do this once a month, or whenever your board starts to look dry.
We’ve made it easy to care for your boards, our Corsaire Creations Board Butter is now available in 25g, 50g and 75g tins.
